What is folk music?

WHAT IS FOLK SONG?

Turkish folk music is an important branch of traditional Turkish music produced by the Turkish communities living in geographies such as Anatolia, Central Asia, Asia Minor, Balkans and North Africa.

TURKISH FOLK MUSIC DISTINGUISHING FEATURES FROM OTHER MUSIC STYLE
The most distinctive feature that distinguishes the Turkish folk music from other types of music is its being "local".
